Roy Frederick Watson, Sr., age 73, transitioned quietly and peacefully, January 28, 2014 at his residence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Roy attended Elementary and High school in Greensburg, LA where he attained his high school diploma. After attending Grambling State University for two years, he enlisted and served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. After leaving the Air Force, Roy lived and worked for gulf Oil in Vallejo, California for fifteen years. He returned to Louisiana in 1976 and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Marketing in 1980. Then he worked for Placid Oil Refinery for twenty years until his retirement in 2000. Roy leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Lovenia Deconge Watson, two sons; Roy Frederick Watson, Jr and Wallace Vigee: two daughters, Lateef Watson Rhodes and Devonseldet Vigee McGowan; one brother, Edgar Williams; two sisters Brenda Durden and Gwen Doaks: ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, two brothers- in- law and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Visitation at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home 87 Paddio Johnson Lane, Greensburg from 4 pm to 8 pm, Friday, Jan. 31, 2014. Visitation will resume at Promise Land Baptist Church, 7234 Plank Rd., Rev. Perry Wright, pastor from 11 am Saturday until religious service at 12 noon. Conducted by Rev. David Franklin.
