August 6, 2013 at age 83.
Visitation at True Vine Baptist Church, 2008 Marigny St., New Orleans, Rev. Jean Jacque, pastor from 5 pm to 6:30 pm, Friday, August 16, 2013. Wake service will follow from 7 pm to 9 pm.
Religious service at Turner Chapel AME Church, 874 Turner Chapel Rd., Greensburg, LA,
Rev. Carolyn Habersham, pastor at 1 pm Saturday. Interment in Turner Chapel Cemetery, Greensburg, LA.
Survived by his children, Linda Spears Irby of Detroit, Michigan; Darlene Neapollioun,
Angela Brookins and John H. Spears, Jr. all of New Orleans and John L. Spears of Los Angeles.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Vanessa R. Jordan.
