Jeffery Roosevelt Banks, 46 year-old native of Geismar, LA and resident of Denham Springs, LA, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, September 1, 2017. An employee of MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, he was a faithful member of Roberts United Methodist Church. Those who will cherish memories of his life and legacy are: his mother, Patricia Patrick Barnes-Banks; a loving and devoted companion and fiancé, Lynette Cornish; daughters: Latricia (Dustin) Parker and Valencia (Mark) Woodfork of Baton Rouge; three sisters: Stephanie E. Banks (Damon) Hall of Houston, TX; Chanelle Barnes and Tia Barnes of Baton Rouge; his granddaughter, Marleigh; goddaughter, Shanna Veal; three aunts: Joyce E. Banks Gross of Atlanta, GA; Delva S. Shivers and Joyce S. Veal of Geismar; four uncles: Fred (Alma) Banks of Denham Springs; Earnest (Julia) Stephens, Richard Stephens, James Drummond of Geismar; two great aunts, Aline Cobb (Savior) Beauchamp of Baton Rouge and Ellen T. Willis of Geismar; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Louise Stephens Banks; grandparents: Eilor and Leanna Cobb Banks and Earnest and Mary Thompson Stephens; two aunts: Jorie Banks Navarre and Leatrice Stephens Drummond; three uncles: Willie Gross III, E. Paul Navarre, and Reginald Veal; and one cousin, I. Renee Stephens.
