Dr. Jeannette Head-Donald transitioned peacefully at the age of 69 on March 30, 2024, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Born on April 12, 1954, Dr. Donald led by example in her giving, teaching, and mentoring to so many. Her physical presence will be missed, but her legacy will continue through the lives she impacted. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Elder Peter, their three children, Patrenia (Perry, Jr.) Spears, Carlton Montrell Donald, and a nephew she raised as her son, Randell (Kalenda) Donald; three grandchildren Kelsey and Perry Spears, III, and Kamran Donald; seven siblings, Willie (Juanita) Head, Jr., Mary (Richard, Jr.) Lockhart, Lawrence Sr., Marvin, Gary, Bettina, and Katina Head; three uncles, Zeb (Sonya) and Wilbert (Isabella) Peters, and Joseph Rome; three aunts, Lillie Allen, Minister Ethel Hill, Diane Peters; three brothers-in-law, Percy, David (Berenda), and Joseph (Patricia) Donald; two sisters-in-law, Phebe Jackson and Maggie Donald; and several godchildren.
Dr. Donald’s impact extends beyond her family. In an effort to advance the kingdom, she earned her Doctorate of Theology in 2013 while also maintaining a successful career as a U.S. Postal Service employee, retiring after 20+ years.
Viewing will be Friday, April 5, 2024, from 4-8pm at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, 7803 Florida Boulevard, Denham Springs, LA 70726. Viewing will resume Saturday, April 6, 2024, at WK Gordon Prayer Center, 8930 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70811 at 9 am until the Celebration of Life at 11am.
