Jackie Ray "Ripp" Wilkerson

Jackie Ray Wilkinson, Sr. "Ripp" a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Saint Francisville, LA entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 70 years old. Born to the union of the late Joseph and Eula M. Rowe Wilkinson in Baton Rouge, LA on April 9, 1951. Jackie is a graduate of McKinley High School class of 1969. An avid deer hunter, Jackie loved the outdoors and had plans for his grandson J3; his sidekick to be in the woods with him. As a man who enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands he enjoyed his profession beginning as a drywall finisher and culminating with a full knowledge of construction and remodeling as owner of Professional Drywall Finishing, construction and remodeling; evidence of which can be seen in homes throughout the greater Baton Rouge area. Visitation will be at Sweet Home Baptist Church, 323 West Buchanan St., Baton Rouge, LA on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 9:00-9:45 a.m. with religious services beginning at 10 a.m. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Celeste Bowman Wilkinson. To this union was born 2 sons, Jackie Ray Wilkinson Jr. (Rosemary) and Kelbert T. (Maria Cristina) Wilkinson, also survived by a daughter Tamara Wilkinson. Grandchildren, Leonor Wilkinson and Jackie Ray Wilkinson III. Sisters Connie J. Bates, of Oakland, CA. Paula M. Wilkinson of Baton Rouge Louisiana.; brothers, Howard R. Sr.(Jeanne), Kevin Sr., Keith Wilkinson, Sr. of Baton Rouge LA, James Joseph and Derrick Wilkinson both of Los Angeles CA; and other extended family including nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents Joseph & Eula M. Rowe Wilkinson. Arrangements entrusted to MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home. COVID guidelines will be enforced. Masks are required.
