Elton Thomas, a resident of Denham Springs, he departed this life, Thursday, January 2, 2014 at his resident surrounded by his wife, daughter and a family friend at age 84. He was an avid gardener and a die hard Dodger's fan. Visitation at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home,
7803 Florida Blvd., Denham Springs from 4 pm to 8 pm Sunday, January 5, 2013. Religious service at Roberts United Methodist Church, 201 Julia St., Denham Springs at 11 am Monday.
Conducted by Rev. Deborah Williams. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. Elton leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 61 years, Idella; daughters, Jackie Thomas, Lora Yvette Griffin (Terrell), Kevia Green and Bridgette Terrell; two sons, Curtis Thomas (Barbara) and Kelvin Thomas; four grandchildren, Tanya Hendrix, Narada Thomas and Taylor and Kennedy Griffin; a great grandson, Jaylen Andrews; four sisters, Elouise Wallace, Johnnie Mae Jackson (Jessie), Mable Guntz (Wilburn) and Julester Powell; three godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Lottie Thomas, two brothers, Preston and James Thomas.
