Ella Hall

Ella Louise Hall entered into eternal rest on May 6, 2017, at the age of 78. She was the loving mother of of Jacqueline Hall and Julius Johnson. She is also survived by a host of siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, and family and friends. Born in Greensburg, LA on July 31, 1938; she would later be celebrated as class Salutatorian of St. Helena High School in Greensburg, in 1956. She graduated from Meadows Draughon Business School as Valedictorian in 1968. She also attended Southern University in Baton Rouge. Louise, as she was known by many, worked as a personal assistant and a seamstress. She was a dedicated volunteer; working with the staff of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Archdiocesan Council of New Orleans, as coordinator for the non-profit's community pharmacy for nearly two decades. She was loved by many clients for her compassion and empathy, and respected by colleagues for her dedication and generosity. She was an active member of the Providence Senior Program at the Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center in New Orleans. Louise loved getting to know people and providing a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen. She always made a point to send a beautiful, heart-felt card; be it birthday, holiday or well wishes, to family members and friends. Her memory will be cherished by family, friends, and the many lives she touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services held at Turner Chapel A.M.E Church, Greensburg LA. on Saturday May 13, 2017 at 3 pm. Visitation on Friday May 12, 2017 at Payne Memorial AME Church, 3306 South Liberty St., New Orleans from 3 pm to 7 pm. Arrangements entrusted to MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home in Greensburg.
