Edgar Jackson, Jr., 69, a resident of Baton Rouge and a former long time resident of New Orleans, departed this life Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home. Survived by his daughters, Shanida Jackson Mathieu (Larry) and Eddreen Jackson Gillard; a brother, David B. Stevenson (Lue); a stepsister, Carmen Sims; grandchildren, Edgar, IV., Christopher, Collin, Conner and Jaila; a great grandson, Xander; sisters in law, Paulette Robertson (David), Charlene Burke (Jack), Germain Bruno (Eldridge), Janice Marmillion (Lloyd) and Esylnn Francis; brothers in law, Albert and Erskine Francis and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Morris Edgar Jackson and Louise Allen; beloved wife, Gaynell Francis Jackson; sons, Edgar Michael Jackson, III. and Jeron Anthony Jackson; father in law, Charles Francis, Sr.; mother in law, Helen Scorza Francis and brother in law, Charles Francis, Jr. Visitation at Promise Land Baptist Church, 7234 Plank Rd., Baton Rouge from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm Thursday, May 25. Interment in Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. Arrangements entrusted to MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, Denham Springs.
