Saddled with a toolbox and a heart as big as his tales, their very own fix-it wizard David Daniel Compau has hung up his wrench and headed for the great workshop in the sky on February 17, 2024. Born in Wyandotte, MI, on April 28, 1956, he clocked out after a spirited 68-year shift on Earth, leaving behind a lifetime of stories and repaired gadgets.
A veteran of chit-chat battles and an Army man (1973-1978), David could spin yarns that would make a loom jealous. He and his beloved sidekick, Linda, navigated the rollercoaster of life for over 34 revolutions around the sun, collecting escapades like some people collect stamps.
David is succeeded by his partner-in-adventure, Linda Compau; his step-protege Angela Lopez, and her co-captain Aaron; his brother Scott Compau (plus Rose); his sisterly duo Cheryl Buza and Barbara Donia; and his leading ladies in training, nieces Jennifer Ruble and Kristle Martin, along with a fan club of nieces and nephews. Tipping his hat goodbye to his parents, Joan and Frank Compau, and brother, Frank Compau Jr., he's off to crack jokes with the angels.
On March 23, 2024, they’ll be spooling the best of David's tales and toasting to the man who could fix everything but goodbyes. Join the shindig at 11 am at "The Homestead" in Denham Springs—dress code: smiles and a dash of mischief
