Carla Dunbar Augustus, born on October 19, 1960, bid farewell to this world on November 14, 2023. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence illuminated the lives of all who knew her.
Family was at the core of Carla's being – the foundation upon which she built her life. As a devoted mother, she showered her loved ones with unconditional love and unwavering support. The bonds she nurtured with her family were unbreakable, defined by love and cherished memories shared together. Carla's legacy lives on through her family who will continue to carry forward those christian values she instilledlord in them.
To honor Carla's life and bid her a fond farewell, a series of commemorations have been arranged. The first event, a Visitation, will take place on November 21, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gordon Feltus Lazard Cathedral, COGIC, 8930 Plank Rd. Baton Rouge, LA. It is an opportunity for those who knew Carla to pay their respects and share cherished memories of their time together.
Following the Visitation, a Funeral Service will commence at 11:00 AM at the same location. This service will be a celebration of Carla's life journeys, and the immeasurable impact she had on countless lives. Family, friends, and community members are encouraged to attend to honor Carla's memory.
Carla will be laid to rest during an Interment ceremony at Southern Memorial Gardens in Baton Rouge on the same day. The ceremony will commence at 1:00 PM and provide a final opportunity for loved ones to commemorate Carla's life and bid her farewell.
Service will be officiated by Rev. George E. Downing Jr. M.Th.
Carla Dunbar Augustus was an extraordinary soul who graced this world with her presence. Her unwavering kindness, selflessness, and dedication to making a difference leave an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
