Betty Johnson was was born in Lake Village, Arkansas and departed this life on April 16, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after a lengthy illness. She passed away peacefully while surrounded by family and friends. In her lifetime, she was an avid fisherman and loved her family above all else. She was known by many as “Mama” “Little Maw Maw” and “Mamacita” and she will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae; two sisters, Joyce and Juanita; a brother, Melvin; a son, J.W; a daughter, Elaine and two grandsons, Jeffery and Justice.
She is survived by two daughters, Monica and Teresa; a son, Tony; two bonus daughters, Janet and Susan, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and beloved friends. A special thanks to Lifesource Hospice and the numerous aides and nurses that cared for her in her last days.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, 7803 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, La 70726 from 1 to 4 pm
